For schools and clubs

Where a whole community pursues excellence.

Schools, clubs, squads of friends.

One standard, shared and kept, every day.

Cincinnati Lacrosse Academy

The first community

The idea

What you want
is tied to what you do.

A community does not decide how its members act. It teaches them the truth beneath every good life, and how to use it: to shape who they become, inside and out.

  1. 1Name the life you want.
  2. 2Learn what leads there.
  3. 3Keep the days.

Squads

Excellence in every squad.
One community.

Groups of guys, groups of girls, friend groups. Each squad pursues excellence together, and every squad belongs to something bigger, all of it going the same way.

  1. 1Small enough to notice a missed day.
  2. 2Close enough to push each other.
  3. 3Together, one community.

Every squad has its group chat.

Messages, the work each member logged, and the challenges the squad shares. A leader sends a challenge into the chat, and each member accepts it with one tap. It lands on their Home, and the squad keeps it together.

Put the ideal into words.

Your page carries your crest, your aim and your rule, before anyone joins. CLA’s: Holding the Standard, in five articles.

  1. 1Your crest. Your name, your colours
  2. 2Your aim. In your own words
  3. 3Your rule. The conduct you agree to keep

02 · The welcome

It goes out with every welcome.

Every family gets the rule word for word, and one tap opens the app with the code already filled in. The first screen inside the app carries the rule again, under your crest.

  2. 2The rule. Word for word

03 · Their standard

They make it their own.

Each member sets a daily standard of their own: one kind of work and the minutes they will give it every day. CLA’s rule asks for at least 20.

  1. 1The work. Wall ball
  2. 2The minutes. Twenty, every day
  3. 3Set. Their standard, in their words

04 · Day one

05 · The bar

The days, against the bar.

Under every aim sits a daily number. The bars are the days. The line is the bar they set for themselves.

  1. 1The bar. Reading, twenty minutes a day
  2. 2The days. Two weeks, against the bar
  3. 3Held. 175% of the bar over two weeks

06 · The clock

Start the clock. Pick what it was.

The timer runs while they work, and the minutes land in the right colour the moment they stop.

  1. 1The clock. Runs while they work
  2. 2Today. Already logged
  3. 3What it was. Strength, skill, cardio, reading

School chapters

A patch. A standard.
A class that keeps it.

A school writes its own standard, under its own crest: the states of life it hopes for its students, and the actions tied to each. We make the patch with them, and any others they want. YOU.PRJCT+ keeps the days.

  1. 1Write it under your crest.
  2. 2Every student sets their bar.
  3. 3The class keeps the days.

How it works in a class.

Our standard.

  • Peace of mindis tied toTen minutes of silence
  • Healthis tied toThirty minutes moving
  • Wisdomis tied toTwenty minutes reading

A concept: Kestrel Hill is an imagined school, with imagined students.

Start small: one class, one semester.

A warm introduction, one pilot school, one classroom. Eight weeks, from the district’s yes to a review of the days kept.

Week 0

Approvals

The district’s yes, first: student privacy, parent consent and opt out, and approval for the app.

  • Student privacy
  • Parent consent
  • App approval

Week 1

Kickoff

The class learns the school’s standard and the truth under it: what you want is tied to what you do. Each student names what they want and sets a daily bar that leads there.

Their crest,
their words. CLA’s here.

Week 3

Chapters

Short lessons, one a day, on their phone. A teacher can open the whole set.

A daily lesson on YOU.PRJCT+

Week 6 · Next

Patches earned

Days kept become the patch on the sleeve. Where this is going: not built yet.

Week 8

Review

What success looks like, measured together at the end.

  • Days kept
  • A class that keeps them together
  • A teacher who says yes

A proposed pilot, from a first draft for one district. Not a schedule anyone has agreed to yet.

The leader’s view

For leaders who carry
a whole community.

Keeping hundreds of people dedicated to the extra work, week after week, is the hardest job in any organisation. The coaches’ dashboard shows a leader where the community stands, so a whole community can pursue excellence, and find fulfilment in it.

  1. 1The one number that matters.
  2. 2How far there is to go.
  3. 3Where to step in.
Try the dashboard yourself

Week 1

The standard goes out.

Every family gets it word for word. The first days come in, and the leader sees every one of them.

Where this is going

A chapter in every school in the country.

  • Schools
  • Friend groups
  • Bible studies
  • Clubs

In a school, squads form.

Students name the life they want, and keep the daily work tied to it, side by side.

In a group of friends.

Five friends, one standard, seen and kept every day.

In a Bible study.

Faith and works, kept together, week after week.

In a club.

A team that keeps the standard in the hours between practices.

Across the country, every day.

Every community raising its ideals, and holding itself to the highest standard.

However the world changes,

the person in the mirror is your most important project, and how you honor the gift of life.

A picture of where this is going

The vision

A generation that knows how to build a life.

A chapter in every school in the country, and a home for every community that wants one: teams, clubs, churches, groups of friends, building it together.

The mission

A standard, the people, the proof.

Give every person a standard worth keeping, a squad to keep it with, and a way to see the days add up into the person they are becoming.

How culture rises

One day, one squad, one school.

Culture is not a speech. It is what a group does every day. One person keeps the standard, their squad sees it, their school feels it, and the country changes one community at a time.

Why it exists

Pursue excellence.

Enjoy the process.

Do it together.

Honor your commitments.

A standard someone else holds is compliance. A standard you hold is character.
